| Hagley Park Botanic garden, Avon River, CanterburyMuseum are all this area. |

Cantebury Museum
Free entrance. Free guided tour is very good, worth to visit on the first day at Christchurch. |

| Botanic Garden :Rose garden is lovely. |
 |
| The Christchurch trams have resumed the service partly since the massive earthquake in 2011. |

Luckily,I encountered migratorybirds. I was watching them for a while.
I found so many birds in NZ and I realised they are so beautiful.
(Metro bus No.5 from city to New Brighton 20 min $3.50) |

| TranzAlpine Railway $236(Single) Departure from Christchurch Railway station at 8:15 AM. the station is 4km away from central town, better to book a pickup shuttle $7 from hotel. |

4.5 hours rail travel was good experience.

From the last stop Greymouth Train station, I got on a connection bus.
The bus stopped at several points on the way to FranzJosef Glacier.
I enjoyed the bus tour as well, no time to fall asleep,kept taking photos.
